The project is about a design proposal for the renovation of an ensuite master bedroom. The aim was to create a simple space that will convey a sense of tranquillity and relaxation to the user. In order to achieve this result the walls have been painted soft colours while the proposed furniture pieces have been chosen to be either in neutral colours such as white and black or in natural wood finishes.
In the master bedroom space, the use of furniture has been kept to a minimum. The design focuses on securing adequate storage space by creating two wardrobes, one bigger than the other, along with the creation of shelves which can be used for storing books. The walls are decorated with paintings featuring the countryside.
The spatial configuration of the bathroom follows the same spirit. The walls are painted a soft grey colour, the ceiling is painted white and white ceramic tiles are used for the new flooring. The existing sliding door of the bathroom is also painted white and a big closet is created in the recess of the existing wall. The second existing wall recess is proposed to be used for creating a shower. A bath tub is placed directly across from the shower so as to create a separate zone at the end of the bathroom. Finally, it is proposed to create a second window opening which in combination with the existing one will provide better lighting and ventilation to the bathroom.
