ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

The 88 sq.m. two-storey house is situated on a 101 sq.m. corner plot in a quiet neighborhood within the Agios Georgios area of Ano Liosia. The design concept takes full advantage of the property's corner layout, which is surrounded by pedestrian streets and faces an adjacent park. The exterior space of the residence is configured as a fenced garden featuring a pergola-shaded terrace and a dedicated parking space. The ground floor comprises an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with an integrated home office space, a guest WC and the staircase connecting the two levels. On the upper floor, the staircase leads to a hallway that serves a dual purpose by incorporating a built-in wardrobe with an integrated washing machine, while providing access to the two bedrooms and the bathroom. One of the bedrooms features a balcony overlooking the opposite park, which also forms a sheltered canopy over the main entrance of the house.

The architectural identity of the building is characterised by a modern aesthetic with clean geometry, a compact volume and minimal lines. The structural system is based on prefabricated SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) for the envelope and a raft foundation (radier), ensuring high structural integrity and exceptional thermal performance. The building is completed with a pitched tiled roof featuring recessed gutters and photovoltaic panels, autonomous multi-split heating/cooling systems, modern energy-efficient windows and an exterior plaster finish. The design aims to create a contemporary, energy-efficient home, emphasising cost and time efficiency through the standardisation of building components.
